At Marcel de Jong Soccer Academy, we pride ourselves in providing players with the training that is not only grounded in science, but also proven to create high-performance athletes. Our team of professional coaches bring out the best in every athlete - no matter the age or skill level. Our programs have been designed to address the Four Pillars of High-Performance Soccer (see below); each of component is carefully and purposefully incorporated into our weekly sessions to ensure players are equipped with the mental and physical skills they need to succeed.

ONGOING REGISTRATION

LEVELS: high performance players only

AGES: 2015 - 2008

  • Whether you are new to the sport or have been playing for years, our Youth Soccer School is tailored to each players current level and goals. We carefully assess students to establish training groups that will maximize learning and skill development over the program term.

    Some of the many aspects we will address during our training sessions include:

    • Mastering ball control

    • Footwork and agility

    • Basis technique / left and right (functional)

    • Body positioning

    • Dribbling

    • Passing and trapping

    • Cutting and turning

    • Safely heading the ball

    • Body feints

    • Shooting and finishing

    • Positional play

    • Game situations

    • Missed sessions are NOT REFUNDABLE and there are no make-up sessions offered when a client misses a session regardless of

    • If a session needs to be cancelled by MD Soccer Academy - most commonly due to inclement weather - we will offer a make-up date after the final session of the regularly-scheduled term.

    • Pro-rated fees may be negotiated for those who start more than one week after the term commences OR for those who know, upon registration, the dates of sessions that they will be unable to attend (must be at least two sessions to receive pro-rated fees).

    • We reserve the right to refuse registration from players unable to commit to a minimum of 75% of sessions since multiple absences may negatively impact the progress of other students in the session.

    • We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and disrespect of staff or other students; students and family members who are unable to comply with this policy will be asked to leave the session and/or term.

    • Students are expected to arrive to all sessions on time and ready to train; please ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of your training session and have a water bottle and are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions that day.

ONGOING REGISTRATION (limited spots; contact us for availability)

LEVEL: MUST BE PLAYING AT THE REP LEVEL (minimum)

DATE/TIME: MONDAY to FRIDAY from 3:30pm - 4:45pm (one session per week)

LOCATION: SOUTH SURREY ATHLETIC PARK (click here for map); usually on Field #9

INVESTMENT: $200incl. GST per month (amount for 4 sessions)

SMALL-GROUP TRAINING

  • Our Small-Group Private Training program is designed for players who are ready to take their game to the next level. This program is intended for athletes currently playing at the rep level and who aspire to compete at the national or international level.

    Our highly-skilled, professional coaches work with each individual to create a customized training plan addressing strengths, challenges and goals. Working in small groups - with a maximum of five (5) students per coach - players will advance their skills and achieve their goals in a shorter period of time.

    Players are encouraged to take ownership of their development, with coaches assuming the roles of mentor and advisor. Players will learn about the importance of self-assessment and reflection skills as they challenge themselves both physically and mentally.

    These sessions include a testing of the four key indicators of player success: technique, speed, coordination and explosiveness. Feedback is always provided along with exercises and adaptations to improve across all four variables.

    • Fees for Private Training are pro-rated based on the number of sessions left in the program AND total number of sessions able to attend if absence dates are provided at time of registration.

    • Missed sessions are NOT REFUNDABLE. However, if the coach is provided a minimum 24-hours notice, the opportunity to join another session - prior to the end of the term - may be possible.

    • Missed sessions will NOT be carried forward to future terms.
