Marcel de Jong is a Canadian international with a Dutch background. Marcel enjoyed a long, successful career in the MLS and the top tiers of European football earning many accolades along the way. Representing the Canadian National team on more than 55 occasions is something Marcel holds as one of his most valued career highlights.
Marcel spent his entire youth career playing for PSV Eindhoven before signing for Helmond Sport, Roda JC, Augsburg, Kansas City, Ottawa Fury, Vancouver Whitecaps and Pacific FC. Off the field, Marcel has served as president of the Player's union for the Canadian Premier League and as a proud member of the global council Fifpro.
With a desire to continue to give back to the community from which he has gained so much, Marcel has shifted his focus to coaching and development of young athletes.
